چکیده

We show that already a small amount of probability weighting has strong implications for the application of prospect theory in the dynamic context. A naive agent will never stop a stochastic process that represents his wealth. This holds for a very large class of processes, and independently of the reference point and the curvatures of the value and weighting functions. This dynamic result is a consequence of a static result that we call skewness preference in the small: At any wealth level there exists an arbitrarily small gamble (which is sufficiently rightskewed) that a prospect theory agent wants to take. By choosing a proper stopping strategy the agent can always implement such a gamble and thus never stops. We illustrate the implications for dynamic decision problems such as irreversible investment, casino gambling, and the disposition effect.

An extended hesitant group decision-making technique based on the prospect theory for emergency situations

Throughout the present manuscript, we are going to introduce a novel group emergency decision-making technique in which the application of prospect theory explains the psychological behaviour of the decision maker who is affected by the hesitancy and uncertainty of cognition in decision making problems.\Instead of usual aggregation procedure, we implement here a new fusion technique that ...

Dynamic Assessment in Iranian EFL Classrooms: A Post- method Enquiry

Derived from the emerging paradigm shift in English language teaching and assessment, there has been a renewal of interest in dynamic assessment (DA) to be used as an alternative to the traditional static testing in language classrooms. However, to date, DA practice has been mostly limited to clinical treatments of children with learning disabilities, and it has not been widely incorporated int...

Nonlocal Analysis of Longitudinal Dynamic Behavior of Nanobars with Surface Energy Effect

Due to considerable stored energy in surfaces of nano-scales in comparison with the stored energy in their bulk, considering the surface energy is necessary for the analysis of various behaviors of nano-scales for more precise design and manufacturing. In this article, the longitudinal dynamic behavior of nanobars in the presence of the surface energy parameters is studied. To this end, the lon...

Explaining Heterogeneity in Risk Preferences Using a Finite Mixture Model

This paper studies the effect of the space (distance) between lotteries' outcomes on risk-taking behavior and the shape of estimated utility and probability weighting functions. Previously investigated experimental data shows a significant space effect in the gain domain. As compared to low spaced lotteries, high spaced lotteries are associated with higher risk aversion for high probabilities o...
